Pre-Competitive

Provincial level 1-4

Competitive Program Structure

PRE-COMPETITIVE

The pre-competitive program is a program for boys between 4 and 8 years old that prepare young athletes physically, technically and mentally for entrance into the Gymnastics Ontario Competitive Program and/or the Aspire National Program. Entrance in the program is by invitation only.

TRAINING DETAILS
Age 6 - 8
3-9hr/week

COMPETITIONS
Athletes in the pre-competitive program may participate in “friendly” competitions to get them used to performing at competitive events.

COMMITMENT
This is a 12 month commitment
. Regular season training hours are consistent from September to June. Training hours change in July and August season. Minor schedule changes may occur due to holidays and competition.

Provincial 1
Levels 1-4

Levels 1 & 2 are compulsory levels. Athletes in the program may participate at invitational competitions or provincial qualifiers. This means that to compete these levels, the gymnast must learn specific routines on each event. Competitions are judged on how well of gymnastics rules. Each gymnast performs the skill, in addition to how well he performs the routine. Entrance is by invitation only.

TRAINING DETAILS
Ages 8+, train 6 to 20hrs/week

COMPETITIONS
Athletes competing in the qualifier system have 3 qualifiers. If qualified they will be able to participate in Ontario Championships.
Provincial athletes will be competing at 3 to 4 competitions. (2 local, 1 out of town and USA competitions are a possibility)

This is a 12 month commitment

National Level / High Performance

This program is designed for athletes 12+ who wish to pursue gymnastics at the highest level, striving to be a member of the National team to represent Canada on the international stage. There are 6 age categories within this level: High Performance Elite 1,2,3,4, Junior and Senior. To attain HP status, and athlete must attend Elite Canada and achieve a high ranking in their specific age category. athletes compete at the national level and attend national competitions and training camps.

TRAINING DETAILS
Ages 12+, train 16 to 25hrs/week

COMPETITIONS
Athletes competing in the qualifier system have 3 qualifiers, followed by Ontario Championships.
Following this, they compete at Elite Canada, Eastern Championships, Canadian Championships, and possible international competitions and training camps.
